For 8 servings:
¾ cup flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 tablespoon vanilla sugar
7 tablespoons granulated sugar
4 eggs
7 tablespoons butter, melted
1 can peaches in juice
¾ cup liquid caramel

Preheat the oven to 180°C/350°F/gas mark 6.
Mix together the butter, baking powder, flour, vanilla sugar and sugar. Add the eggs, one at a time. If they are small, add another egg.

Slowly melt the butter in the microwave or in a saucepan and add it to the mixture.

Finally, stir in just over 1/3 cup of peach juice.

Grease a 10-inch cake pan. Pour in the liquid caramel. Place the peach halves on the caramel and cover with the cake mixture.

Cook in the oven for approximately 40 minutes.
Remove from oven and turn out. Serve chilled.

Finishing touches...
You can also pour caramel over the serving, although this makes it extremely calorific! |
