Easy
Preparation time: 30 mn
Cooking time: 15 mn

Total time: 45 mn

For 2 servings:
  • 8 oz uncooked spaghetti
  • ˝ cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 to 3 slices of ham
  • shredded cheese
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tablespoon of flour
  • nutmeg
  • pepper
  • 1 garlic clove
    •
    • Preparation
    •
    1. 1     Cut the ham into small cubes and finely slice the onion. Sweat the onions in a dab of butter (if necessary adding a little oil to prevent the butter from burning).
At the same time, boil the water for the pasta.
    2. 2     Sprinkle a small amount of flour over the onions (about a tablespoonful should suffice) to absorb the fat. Continue to cook until you begin to detect a biscuit like smell.
Lower the heat and mix in the milk and the heavy cream.
Sprinkle over a pinch of nutmeg and pepper. In the other pan, cook the pasta in the boiling water for 6 minutes.
    3. 3     Add the ham to the mixture and stir in the shredded cheese. Continue to add cheese until the mixture begins to become sticky.
    4. 4     When the sauce and the pasta are cooked, rub a clove of garlic over a gratin dish and add the pasta followed by the sauce. Sprinkle with shredded cheese and place under the grill for
a few minutes, watching carefully to check it doesn’t burn.
Finishing touches... Perfect served with a small side salad.
