When there is only one empty cell remaining in a row, column or region, you simply need to go through the numbers 1-9 to see which one is missing. Let’s go back to the previous Sudoku
puzzle, in which we have already filled in a few numbers.
There is only one empty cell remaining in row 1. If you go through the numbers from 1-9 in your head, you’ll soon see that it is the number 9 which is missing. You can therefore fill the empty cell with the number 9 to complete the row.
