This Sudoku
technique involves noting down all the possible positions for all the numbers from 1-9.
When you have noted down all the possible positions for all the numbers in the Sudoku puzzle, you will often find that the same two options appear in two cells. In line with the rules of Sudoku, this pair can therefore be ruled out as an option from other cells in the same row, column or region. The following example illustrates this Sudoku technique.
In row 1 of this region, we have the same two possibilities in two of the cells. The figures 7 and 9 can only be placed in these two cells. We can therefore eliminate these options from other cells in the same region. As these two pairs of possible values can be found in the same row, we can also eliminate these options from other cells in the same row.
